There is great emphasis on Muslims to perform the holy pilgrimage to Mecca, provided they can afford to.  90% of The Gambian population are Muslims, who feel their faith is incomplete until they make the voyage to visit the land of the Holy Prophet and perform te rites precedented by him.  Reliance believes every hard-working Muslim deserves to complete this journey, our aim is to help every Muslim complete this very important part of their religion, affordably through a value-added savings plan All intending pilgrims will be given an opportunity to open a Hajj Savings Account.

• This is a contractual savings plan with possible tenures of 6,12,18, 24 and 36 months
• The minimum opening balance will be set at GMD10,000
• There will be no withdrawals from the account during the contractual period
• There will be no interest payment as this is in contradiction with Islam especially for intending pilgrims.
• The value -add Reliance will offer is to undertake to defray the expenses for passport, vaccinations, and the robes (Armal) that the pilgrims wear.
• Reliance will also pay for a consultant to give a 3 days lecture on the obligations of the pilgrim.
